Destinations

7-Eleven is close by if you needed anything extra, and we have bicycles you can borrow to explore the town as well as nearby cities (through train at Obusuma station).

Kawagoe (川越 or かわごえ)

Kawagoe is a nice old Edo-era town with old Kurazukuri-style Japanese houses and plenty of cultural activities for sightseers to enjoy. The stately entrance and main hall of castle Honmaru Goten (本丸御殿) around which this town has originally grown can still be visited. For more information, check out their english website link below.
To get there, take the train from Obusuma to Ikebukuro until Kawagoe station, which takes about one hour.

Chichibu(秩父 or ちちぶ)

Chichibu is famous as a temple town, but you can also go hiking along the lots of waterfalls in the area. In springtime, the city’s symbol flower Katakuri (片栗), the dogtooth violet, can be seen blossoming all over one of the largest park areas in Japan.
To get there, take the train from Obusuma station to Yorii, change to the Chichibu line and get off at Chichibu station. The trip should take about one hour.

Nagatoro(長瀞 or ながとろ)

Nature is probably the most prominent thing about Nagatoro, and the best way to enjoy it is to do a trip down Nagatoro River in a wooden boat. But beware, the Nagatoro river passage is not a peaceful one! Of course, that might be exactly what you are after.
To get there, take the train from Obusuma station to Yorii, change to the Chichibu line and get off at Nagatoro station, which should take about 40 minutes.
